South Row Elementary School hosted its 17th Annual Science Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Students in grades K-4 created myriad projects to show how volcanoes work, how shadows are created, the life cycle of a butterfly, the effect of exercise on a person’s heartbeat, how temperature effects battery life. Several projects even helped answer some very intriguing questions, including:
- Can you use milk to make plastic?
- What happens to gummy bears in different liquids?
- What type of home design best survives an earthquake?
- How do animals go extinct?
- Can you grow candy?
- What is my dog telling me?
- How do light bulbs work?
- Which salt melts ice the best?
