A letter from the Principal and Assistant Principal

South Row is currently the smallest elementary school in Chelmsford with a student population of approximately 442 students in grades K-4. We have four sections at each grade level with class sizes ranging from 20 – 24.

We are pleased to have a full time Nurse, Secretary, Custodian, School Counselor, Psychologist, Early Childhood Center Teacher, Speech and Language Pathologist, two Reading Specialists, an English Language Learner teacher, Resource Room Teacher, Learning Center Teacher, and a Special Education teacher who supports students in both the learning center and resource room. Our building houses the STRIVE Therapeutic Program for the district. Within this program we have two full time teachers and a BCBA. Our specialist team includes an Art Teacher, Music Teacher, Physical Education Teacher, Computer Lab Assistant and Library Assistant.  We also have the following part-time professionals who provide both direct services to children and support to staff: an Occupational Therapist, a Physical Therapist, an additional part time Speech and Language Pathologist and a Data Clerk.

Our cadre of paraprofessionals provide instructional support to students in our Early Childhood Center, Learning Center, Resource Room and the STRIVE program.  We also have eight dedicated aides who supervise our students during recess and lunch. Our school would not be able to adequately function without our secretary, our clerk and head custodian!

South Row prides itself on having a very happy and friendly school culture where all the adults work in collaboration with one another in order to help our students learn and grow.  Needless to say we have a wonderfully supportive PTO and School Council who are dedicated to supporting our families and staff in whatever ways they can. “Whatever it Takes” has become our unofficial motto!
